Maurits

Lesson & workshop instructor

Hello! I’m Maurits, currently functioning as the Sunday strength class instructor, and general substitute teacher.

I first started my poledance journey in the summer of 2013, and quickly fell in love with the sport. Back then i had a very limited background in sports, and absolutely none in dance, and while both have increased since, pole continues to challenge me to this day.

The main reason why i love pole so much, is how quickly it enables you to find your own path. If you’ll grab any random class, you could find a student perform with amazing flexibility, while another has perfected her flow to perfect seamlessness, and a third student is practicing her aerial invert with just one arm.
Each one is practicing poledance, yet they’re all doing something different, and none of them are doing it ‘wrong’. They’re each doing what feels natural to them, with pole giving them the opportunity to express their own individual style, but all creating beauty through dance. Isn’t that amazing?!

As for me, I dance mostly for myself. I’ll enter competitions occasionally, and sometimes I’m even lucky enough to win. As of this writing, I’m the current Dutch champion in the IPSF Senior Men division for 2018.

If you have any questions, either during or outside my classes, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m always happy to help!
